‘The first private pleasure garden’ consists of a great many inflatable skin-colored objects, which together form a desolate cave-like landscape. To confuse the sense of scale and manipulate the perception of the audience, these virtual objects are just to experience as a two-dimensional landscape. The installation is carefully composed and photographed. This image is projected with four slide projectors showing one large panorama. While viewing the projection the shadow of the viewer emerges on top of the image, disappears and emerges again. As if the viewer walks and clambers through this microscopic landscape, in this way one becomes part of the whole.
